      Why Learn Equine Hoof Trimming

               Through Our Company

Studying pathology-informed trimming of the equine foot through Animal Biomechanical Solutions in Australia provides an academically grounded opportunity to develop a more comprehensive understanding of hoof health and its relationship to whole-horse function.

Our approach extends beyond the standard industry application of trimming techniques by examining the interactions among pathology, biomechanics, functional anatomy, orthopaedic balance, and locomotor performance. Such training supports a deeper appreciation of how alterations within the hoof and distal limb (principally the Distal interphalangeal Joint) may influence posture, load distribution, soundness, and long-term musculoskeletal welfare.

Students do not simply learn how to trim a hoof; they learn how pathology, movement, posture, and limb loading interact to affect soundness, performance, and long-term welfare. With instruction presented as science-reviewed and clinically tested, and led by recognised professionals in equine biomechanical medicine, this training can help horse owners and practitioners make better-informed decisions, improve hoof care outcomes, and support the horse’s overall quality of life.
